Superman Comic
During the spring semester, I had the pleasure of receiving on one of Ron Marz’s scripts and interpreting it as a comic book spread. The script was handed by Ron Marz himself for an issue of Superman that was already released. The task was to illustrate the script and abide by the notes given Marz. Such notes included: number of panels per page, emotions portrayed by the characters, the captions and text, etc. This was an amazing practice that strengthened all sorts of skills; competition, storytelling, legibility, color theory, understanding anatomy and spaces and many more. There were many round and sketches and revisions made in order to tell the most cohesive, easy-to-navigate, comprehensive comic sheet. There were also many studies and revisions of color and form in order to aid the story telling process as well. Not to mention that the perspective and shots were rethought many times in order to portray the necessary emotions in each panel.
